Baby Britain

"Baby Britain" investigates the individual and society as a hybrid creature. This study in figuration is largely inspired by the Platonic model of the political body. This hybrid creature in mid-stride was inspired in part by Scotland move for secession in 2014. The head at the center of this anthropomorphic Union Jack faces outwards, a personification of of the creature's viscerae-an organ that is not usually personified. From below, this beast's heart is a hollow concave interior which reflects the same face in relief looking back at the viewer while it's caricaturized gumby-like limbs move forward into space.

This relfects the organic manner in which both the individual and societies can be seen to move more or less formally while reflecting the ever-changing cultural landscape of British national identity.
